About Broken Bushcraft

I am Addam (not a spelling error), and this journey started when another ended. When I retired from the Marine Corps in 2020, I became very depressed and needed an outlet. That's where the name comes from, I was broken mentally. The outdoors has always been therapeutic for me and beats any pill. I have always been an outdoors person and my passion has only grown. I have been teaching my kids about the outdoors and building their skills and confidence. I noticed a lot of people love the outdoors but don’t have the experience or confidence to get out there. My wife pushed me to start a YouTube channel after I posted a few videos to Facebook. That’s where Broken Bushcraft comes in. I have been teaching basic outdoors skills since 2021 and this site helps fund that passion. Whether it’s testing gear, exploring sites, or donating outdoor gear to people who can’t afford it there is a passion here, and one that I am sure you share. 

Survival should not break the bank. If the gear is on this site, I use it and have tested it. No shortcuts, no BS. One of my goals is to make sure you can protect yourself and your family with equipment that is high quality but low price. Get outside and breath some fresh air.
